‘The Table That Turned’ is a solid English ash table that expresses a sense of playfulness and excitement that is delivered through the traditional process of turning. The exaggerated and distinctive nature of the table legs asks questions of the user/viewer and leads a dialogue about the whole turning process from start to finish and not just the finished piece. It is this conversation and relationship between furniture, craft and the user that I find intriguing and I have translated this into a piece of furniture that is practical, fun and should be used as a table for everyday use in the home.
